Overview

Crowley College Prep Scholarship Recipient

I am an activist in my school community.  I have sat on several student panels for our school and our Southwest Denver community as a member of our student congreso.  I have shared my personal narrative and my educational experience with others in hopes to better our systems and to give our community a good perspective of what we experience as STRIVE Prep students. I am also nominated by teachers to go to freshmen advisories and speak to the younger students about the importance of education and college.  I have found a way to use my negative attitude from my freshman year and use it to positively benefit my community.  I am able to relate to many of the freshman students who are struggling with school and negative community influences, and serve as a necessary role model for them. Through this scholarship I wish keep the legacy of Kenneth D. Crowley, Sr. on my journey to not only changing my community, but influencing those around me through my success in college. I wish to use this scholarship as an investment to my future in order for me to give back to my community.
