The Crowley Foundation was founded in 2009 by Kenneth D. Crowley Sr. A product of Denver Public Schools and a graduate of South High School.  While interning at Langston University (his alma mater), Kenneth learned the importance of how a foundation’s role can support and influence a community. He also realized the importance of giving back and helping others. The Crowley Foundation’s activities, programs, relationships and goals are grounded in building strong emotional, intellectual and social skills that support youth success. Kenneth was recognized for his work with young men of color by  My Brother’s Keeper (MBK25) and was inducted into the 2016 inaugural class.   He is also a graduate of The Leadership Denver program (class of 2015), the freshest class ever!

Greetings!  I am Jean Crowley, Co-Founder of the Crowley Foundation and Chief Operations Officer. I’m an alumni of Langston University, an HBCU located in Langston, Oklahoma. It’s where I met my husband, Kenneth Crowley Sr. My background began in Telecommunications and then migrated to the healthcare industry where I served in a leadership role for 11 years.  While working in healthcare my true passion was ignited when the foundation was formed to help Colorado students pursue a higher education.  Inspiring them to realize their potential and value requires patience, love and time.  I describe my position as being the heart that gives life when the visionary has spoken. For 11 years Crowley Foundation has grown by leaps and bounds, internally and externally. It’s an honor to serve. I look forward to meeting you. 

Kenneth D. Crowley II is a vibrant native of the Mile High City, Denver, Colorado. As an undergrad at Langston University, Mr. Crowley served as the President of the Regional Model Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated helping develop young brothers he also blazed trails in programming social and intellectual events. He is currently the Program Director and Curriculum writer for the foundation. Aside from titles and programming, Kenneth has always shown an authentic passion to serve the next generation of Young Kings through his creativity, integrity and connection with youth. Moving forward, Kenneth will continue to charter deep waters and excite those around him to inspire Young Kings for coming generations.

As a Denver native, she spent time studying communications at CCD and psychology at Bethune-Cookman University. As the Media and Marketing Director she has constructed and distributed content for CF programs and events for over 5 years. Whether it is news stations or social media, Jayana makes it her mission to get the word out about all things happening within the Crowley Foundation. She recently relocated to Dallas, Texas to head the Dallas chapter with KC and construct a new side of the Crowley Foundation that houses a Young Queen’s program. When she's not working hard for the foundation she finds pride in being a mom to her precious young king Jaxsen and living her life to its fullest!

Anthony Crawford, Jr. is a native of Los Angeles, California. He came to Oklahoma in the fall of 2007 to attend Langston University and graduated in 2012 with a degree in education in which he served as the Langston University Student Government Association Activities Coordinator, Vice President and President. He also pledged Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. by the way of the Beta Epsilon Chapter. Now, Anthony is a traveling speaker, a poet who hosts Dope Poetry Night at the Ice Event Center, the author of Black Pain’t, and a youth empowerment hero. He’s also the 6th and 7th grade teacher at Young Achievers Christian Academy.

Martinez D. Anderson is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, and currently resides in Dallas, Texas, where he is an assistant principal. Martinez is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Jackson State University and hopes to graduate this upcoming Fall 2021. He is also a full-time activist that enjoys spending time with friends and family when available.

Tonoa Manuel is the Founder and Lead Project Strategist at SIYG Consulting Firm and brings over 10 years of Project Management and Risk Mitigation in the private and public sector & 4 years of experience in nonprofit and educational consulting and coaching. Her mission: Creating a sustainable business starts with understanding the value of your strategic plan. Whether you're a solo-preneur or multi-member team, I believe your plan is the most essential part of your business. We will work together to establish clarity and direction. Focusing on aligning your vision, diagnosing your overall objectives and processes, and planning for execution. Align + Vision + Diagnose + Plan + Execution + Optimize. As an advocate for her community and believes in accessibility and sustainability for all regardless of their story and believes in giving the community the opportunities they need to learn, grow, and thrive. Tonoa was chosen to exhibit at TEDXMileHigh: Humankind in June 2019, and now sits on the Exhibits Board for TEDxMileHigh. Tonoa also works closely with MBSK Colorado’s Wellness program. Second Impressions Youth Garden had the opportunity to show how society can bridge the gap with our differences to elevate and grow to the next level, with their Community Mapping Experience. Tonoa was selected to facilitate a workshop at the 2020 National Mentoring Summit in Washington, DC.She is also a staunch community advocate and supporter of small businesses and community! 

Eugene Buckman says, I can say so much about this organization and family. My second family. I was blessed to be able to attend the very first Crowley Foundation, “boys2MEN” workshop in 2009/2010 as a sophomore in high school. At the time, I was the student with all the potential, still searching for my purpose. The years passed and, my relationship with the Crowley Foundation became an unbreakable bond. For the last 8 years and on, I will use my experiences as a first- generation college student, to pour into the future generations of young black men. Through the, “boys2MEN” workshop in the fall and the, “boys2MEN Leadership Summit” during the summer, I have had a plethora of opportunities to cultivate, develop, challenge and uplift young black men. Hence, the term and chant, “Young King!” was conceived through the influence of the Crowley Foundation and family. Today, I refer to ALL black men as Young Kings, reinforced through the seven values of the Crowley Foundation – Family, Service, Pay it Forward, Authenticity, Integrity, Leadership, and Scholarship. Out of these values, “Pay it Forward” is the one that resonates with me the most. I am a PROUD product of the Crowley Foundation’s vision and support.

Charlyn is the Founder of Working Within, helping purposeful leaders build their ambitious social enterprises and empowering others through workshops and the Working Within podcast. To date, she’s hosted guests like Wanda James, the first Black woman cannabis dispensary owner in the US, and Christiane Pendarvis, the Co-President of the Savage X Fenty brand by Rihanna on her show. Charlyn has previous experience in C-Suite management and strategy consulting and serves as Chief of Staff at EdSolutions, an education consulting firm. Prior to her role as Chief of Staff, she worked with Redstone Strategy Group consulting for funders in both the Education and Economic Equity fields. Her most notable project involved managing the strategy refresh for a client’s $300 million portfolio of national K-12 education investments. Charlyn received a B.S. in Business Administration with a Finance concentration from the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis and was named one of two Best & Brightest Business Undergrads for the class of 2020. In the Denver metro area, Charlyn serves as President of the Young Professionals Inclusive Leadership Council for GlobalmindED and was selected as a 2022 Connect Leadership Fellow for the Urban Leadership Foundation of Colorado. She has shared messages of empowerment on virtual and live stages at Washington University, the Black Boss Summit, Denver Startup Week, and the GlobalmindED Annual Conference.

Board Members

Marcus L. Pope is a small business owner and community connector in the Denver area. Over the last 20 years Marcus has merged his passion, interests, and leadership in the private business sector along with his love for community enrichment through various opportunities of service.

Along with his time spent in the private enterprise realm, Marcus has served in the classroom and in advisory spaces for Denver Public Schools. With his various contributions to his local and global community, Marcus’ greatest calling in life has been the privilege of fathering two amazing children.

It is the overlapping principles of leadership, service and paying it forward demonstrated by the Crowley Foundation that prompted Marcus to seek opportunity to connect, support, and serve with the organization and its mission.

Marcus is a graduate of Colorado Christian University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Kazzidy Stewart is a Washington, D.C. native who currently resides in Dallas, Texas. She holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Northeastern University and a MS in Information Assurance from University of Maryland Global Campus. She is currently a Technical Consultant at Microsoft. Kazzidy helps fortune 500 companies develop technical solutions by day and spends her additional time engaged in DE&I and community driven efforts. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She is also an active member of the Dallas community through various channels. Kazzidy believes that it is her responsibility to replenish what she's received from the community by pouring back into it.

William Harris was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado. He graduated from Overland High School as a Daniels Fund Scholar and later earned his BBA in Computer Information Systems from Howard University. He is a proud and active member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and served as the chapter president during his tenure at Howard. After his undergraduate studies, William relocated to Dallas and joined Microsoft as a Cyber Security Consultant, supporting Fortune 500 companies.

 Currently, Mr. Harris is a second-year MBA candidate at the SMU Cox School of Business, concentrating in Real Estate Finance and Entrepreneurship. He is both a Cox Distinguished Scholar and a Toigo Fellow. Additionally, William is a Niemi Fellow, conducting research and producing nonpartisan policy recommendations to advocate for innovation districts and affordable housing.

 William's goal is to merge his passion for commercial real estate, finance, and community development by pursuing value-add and opportunistic investment opportunities that also offer quality, affordable housing.

 Mr. Harris joined the Crowley Foundation after attending the boys2MEN workshop in 2011. Since then, he has both supported and led seminars on topics such as social & emotional awareness, father/son relationship healing, legacy leadership, professional development, and financial literacy.
